European compressor claw couplings are made from iron that has been zinc passivated for additional protection against the elements in accordance with DIN 3489. The couplings come with barbed hose tails, BSPP female, or BSPT male threads, and have two lugs on the locking head that can be rapidly linked to existing claw or ‘Q’ style devices.

European claw couplings are easily fastened by rotating the coupling until the claws are 45° apart and have a 42mm spacing between the locking lugs, which is slightly different than the American equivalent.
