Electronic components are omnipresent in our everyday lives, and indeed often in permanent use. Every manufacturer is thus faced with the challenge of manufacturing reliable components efficiently. There are two main aspects to focus on: firstly, the components must meet the very highest requirements for the manufacture of electronic equipment. Secondly, the systems and manufacturing processes themselves must be tailored precisely to the often sensitive electrical parts. That means manufacturers need a lot of know-how – and the right materials. We support you with a large range of composites and thermoplastic materials, such as our ESD materials and our Durostone® solder pallets. They help you in the efficient manufacture of reliable electronic components.
Uncontrolled discharges can result in costly damage, which is why electrostatic discharges must be prevented in microelectronics especially. We offer you a wide range of ESD plastics for this purpose. They have defined electrical properties – from antistatic to conductive.
Our Durostone® PCB solder pallets were developed specifically for the manufacture of circuit boards. They are suitable for SMT, reflow and wave soldering processes. Offering outstanding mechanical stability at higher temperatures, their low thermal conductivity enables optimum heat distribution, while they are also chemically resistant to modern fluxes.
Maywotron® pure is a material developed specifically for the vacuum forming industry that combines electrical conductivity / discharge capability with high purity without any carbon abrasion. This combination opens up the possibility of use in sensitive areas of application where defined electrostatic properties alongside high purity levels are demanded, e.g. the electronics & semiconductor industries and the clean room. Typical components made of Maywotron® pure include transport trays, for instance.
In the form of EtroX® V we present a material especially for the machining of high-precision test sockets for electronic components. EtroX® V is particularly suitable for machining high-precision test sockets with extremely small boreholes. These have a minimum diameter of up to 0.1 mm and are very well formed with only minimal burr formation. The high precision of EtroX® V increases reliability and economic efficiency in the time-consuming and costly manufacture of equipment for testing electronic components.
The performance and service life of plastics for use in the electronics industry are influenced by a variety of factors. These criteria need to be considered in order to make the right choice. Examples:
