Klinger Gasket Materials

Klinger Gasket Materials

Our firm has long been focused on gaskets, gasket materials, and custom CNC conversion. When providing compressed fibre, asbestos replacement gaskets and materials, we prefer to use Klinger® gasket materials.

Klinger materials are offered in a variety of grades that can handle a wide range of applications and situations. They have been developed since 1886 and are famous for their quality and dependability. Common sectors include oil and gas, aerospace, chemical, and petrochemical production, as well as power generation. However, the features they offer make them equally suitable for sealing applications in practically any industry and situation.

All sheeting materials may be turned into unique shapes and profiles, specialised washers and seals, or regular flange gaskets using our CNC profile cutting equipment.

Please get in touch with us and supply the following information so that we can assess which Klinger® gasket material would fit your application the best and provide you with the best advice:

  • Operating Temperature
  • Operating Pressure
  • Convenient

Details and Gasket Size.
The comparative table and chemical resistance chart at the foot of this page should help you decide which Klinger material is best for your application if you’re still not convinced.

Many of our Klinger gasket materials are available to purchase online at Petron Thermoplast. Full sheets and cut quarter pieces can be bought. Please visit our website and buy now!

Compressed Fibre Klinger® Gasket Materials

KLINGERsil C4324

Our most economical grade manufactured from a blend of aramid, carbon and glass fibres. These are held together with an NBR rubber binder to provide resistance to oils, fuels and hydrocarbons. WRAS approved for use with potable water. Temperature range of up to +180°C continuous, +350°C maximum. Max. pressure of 50 bar.

KLINGERsil C4400

C4400 is based on aramid fibres combined with a nitrile rubber binder. This creates a general purpose sealing material commonly used in the automotive and aerospace sectors. It also has good resistance to oils, fuels and hydrocarbons. Temperature range of up to +200°C continuous, +400°C maximum. Max. pressure of 100 bar.

KLINGERsil C4430

A premium grade material manufactured from synthetic and glass fibres bound together with NBR rubber. The material displays good resistance to creep, steam, and a wide range of chemicals. WRAS approved for use with potable water. Temperature range of up to +200°C continuous, +400°C maximum. Max. pressure of 100 bar.

KLINGERsil C4500

Carbon fibre based with a nitrile rubber binder. The carbon fibre increases its resistance to both steam and alkaline based applications and enables it to operate at a higher continuous temperature than other compressed fibre options. Temperature range of up to +220°C continuous, +400°C maximum. Max. pressure of 100 bar.

KLINGERsil C8200

C8200 is specifically designed to be used in aggressive chemical environments. The blend of fibres are combined with an acid resistant binder, generating resistances to most mineral acids, alkalis, ketones, aldehydes and refrigerants. Temperature range of up to +150°C continuous, +200°C maximum. Max. pressure of 60 bar.

KLINGER Statite Gasket Paper

Manufactured from impregnated paper, Statite is frequently used for low bolt load applications in the automotive industry due to its resistance to both oils and fuels. Typically used when the additional strength offered by compressed fibre is not a requirement. Temperature range of up to +100°C continuous. Max pressure of 8 bar.

KLINGER Top-Graph 2000

Expanded graphite with synthetic fibres. The inclusion of graphite allows it to withstand higher combined continuous temperatures and pressures than typical compressed fibre materials. It also improves its flexibility and resistance to steam. Temperature range of up to +220°C continuous, +400°C maximum. Max pressure of 100 bar.

KLINGER Quantum

A high temperature material. Due to the use of a HNBR binder, it maintains its flexibility even after continued use at elevated temperatures. It’s is both FDA and WRAS approved for use in food contact and potable water applications. Temperature range of up to +350°C continuous, +400°C maximum. Max pressure of 100 bar.

Graphite Klinger® Gasket Materials

KLINGER Graphite SLS-AS

Pure exfoliated graphite with an adhesive bound stainless steel foil insert. This improves both load bearing and handling while maintaining resistances to steam, temperature, and most chemical media. Temperature range of up to +460°C continuous. Max pressure of 140 bar.

KLINGER Graphite PSM-AS
Made from pure exfoliated graphite with the inclusion of a mechanically fixed tanged stainless steel insert. The insert improves blow-out resistance, making it a common option in the chemical and petrochemical sectors. Temperature range of up to +460°C continuous. Max pressure of 150 bar.

KLINGER MILAM PSS

MILAM is a flame retardant, mica based material reinforced with a stainless steel tanged insertion. It is able to withstand heated, dry gas applications and also displays excellent resistance to chemicals and embrittlement. Temperature range of up to +900°C continuous. Max pressure of 5 bar.

PTFE Klinger® Gasket Materials

KLINGER Top-Chem 2000

A premium grade, silicon carbide filled PTFE gasket material. This heavy duty material is fire safe, ideal for use with chemicals, and provides excellent sealing at elevated temperatures and pressures. FDA approved for food contact applications. Temperature range of up to +260°C continuous. Max pressure of 150 bar.

KLINGER Top-Chem 2003
Manufactured from modified PTFE and specifically used with delicate flanges or in low bolt load applications. Top-Chem 2003 is ideally suited for sealing glass lined equipment and is FDA approved for food contact applications. Temperature range of up to +200°C continuous, +260°C maximum. Max pressure of 100 bar.

KLINGER Soft-Chem

Pure expanded PTFE. Soft-Chem is compressible, has excellent chemical resistance, and low bolt load requirements make it suitable for irregular flanges. FDA approved for food contact applications. Temperature range of up to +200°C continuous, +250°C maximum. Max pressure of 60 bar.
