Silicone extrusion is a process that involves pushing silicon through a forming die to create cables, complex profiles, and cross-sections (a stainless steel disc with a pattern carved out).
Extrusion is a process of shaping aluminum that includes heating a billet and forcing it through a die with a specified aperture to create up to five kilometers of extruded items from a single billet. When the tubes emerge from the extrusion process, they are coiled in the same shape as the die opening.
High-temperature sealing applications include door seals, gaskets, heat sealing profiles, oven door seals, and food quality sealing.
Our standard profiles are listed below. Please click on the desired profile to obtain a PDF detailing the dimensions of the standard tools available. A general-purpose grade with a hardness of 60° is included as standard. A self-adhesive backing may be included on some profiles. When submitting your question, please indicate which surface of the profile you’d want the self-adhesive backing applied to.
Anti-friction treatment can benefit low durometer, general-purpose, high strength, high temperature, and platinum cured grades. The anti-friction treatment gives extrusions a smooth surface with reduced dirt attraction and stickiness. FDA-approved grades remain FDA compliant after the therapy.
Our metal detecting silicone rubber strip has been tested to fulfil the worldwide migration standards set out in FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 by extraction in n-hexane and deionized water.
Although the majority of metal detection scanning machines detect our metal detecting silicone rubber, we cannot make any guarantees and strongly advise you to test the material with your own equipment.
