UPVC Air Release Valve
A UPVC Air Release Valve is automatic where air is located at the highest points of the pipeline and other systems, where air is naturally collected. The Upvc air release valve are bubbles of air therefore air enters the relief valve and displaces the liquid inside, when the lower is liquid level so that the drops of upvc air release valve is to such an extent that it no longer floats. the float drops causing the valve to open which vents the accumulated air into the atmosphere.
Once the Upvc air released valve is doing the air is released, then re-enters the valve in liquid and lifts the floats, until the seat against the pressure, and closing the valve. This cycle continues automatically and maintains an air-free system. The purpose of an UPVC Air Release Valve, also known as an Air Relief Valve, is to relieve trapped air that gathers at each maximum height of a full-pressured tube. Because the inner lever system amplifies the floating force to be higher than the inner pressure, a UPVC air release valve may open against inner pressure.

Benefits of Using UPVC Air Release Valve
Prevents air locking
The UPVC air release valve automatically releases the air trapped in pipelines, which helps maintain the smooth and efficient flow.
Improves system efficiency
They also remove the pockets of air pocket which reduces the loss of pressure, pump cavitation, and uneven flow.
Corrosion-resistant
UPVC air release valves don’t rust or corrode, making them ideal for water, wastewater, and chemical applications.
Lightweight & easy to install
They are much lighter than other metal valves, so the handling, transport, and installation are quicker and cheaper.
Low maintenance
UPVC air release valves are typically required for minimal upkeep and have fewer moving parts.
Cost-effective
They are generally cheaper than brass, cast iron, or other alternatives, so both in upfront cost and lifecycle cost.
Chemical resistance
They are suitable for many chemicals, fertilizers, and treated water; this is great for irrigation and industrial use.
Long service life
Resistant to scaling, pitting, and environmental degradation when used within rated pressure and temperature limits.
Reduces pipe damage
By releasing air and preventing vacuum formation, it helps avoid pipe collapse and water hammer issues.
Types of UPVC Air Release Valve
1) Automatic Air Release Valves (ARVs)
- They automatically release the small pockets of air that they accumulate during normal operation.
- They are operating the system without any external intervention.
- These are ideal for continuous systems where air is naturally collected at high points.
2) Large-Capacity Air & Vacuum (Air/Water) Valves
- These are designed to handle the large volumes of air during the filling or draining of pipelines.
- These acts act as vacuum breakers when the piping is emptied, preventing collapse
- They provide both rapid air release on filling the air intake and draining
3) Combined UPVC Air Valve (Double Function Valve)
- Combines two functions in one unit:
- Releasing the air during normal flow (small air pockets)
- Air expulsion and vacuum are broken during the filling/draining
- A versatile, all-in-one solution for long pipelines.
4) Simple UPVC Air Release Valves
- Upvc air release valve after the basic design, focusing on releasing only the small air pockets
- No vacuum breaking or large volume handling
- Lower costs are suitable for short and low-pressure lines.
5) Manual UPVC Air Release Valves
- Required the manual operation (hand-operated screw or lever) to release the trapped air.
- Used where automatic ARVs are not feasible or for maintenance purposes
6) Two-Stage UPVC Air Valves
- Feature separate chambers:
- The first chamber handles the bulk of the air discharge during filling.
- The second chamber takes care of air release during running.
