Butyl Rubber Sheeting

Butyl Rubber Sheeting

Butyl rubber sheeting (IIR) is a synthetic elastomer made from a combination of isobutylene and isoprene that has a good performance. It has good thermal stability, as well as resistance to ageing, ultraviolet radiation, and weathering, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor uses.Butyl rubber’s extremely impermeable structure makes it a prefered choice for applications requiring air retention or gas and compressed air sealing. However, it should not be used with petroleum, oils, or chlorinated solvents.Butyl rubber sheet, which is available in rolls, strips, and cut-to-size sheets, is often used to make gaskets and seals due to their unique qualities. Isobutylene-isoprene rubber is another name for butyl.

Key Features

  • Shore Temperature range: 65° ± 5°.
  • -40°C to +140°C is the temperature range.
  • Most gases, compressed air, and moisture are impervious to this material.
  • It has excellent UV and ageing resistance.
  • When an airtight seal is required, this substance is commonly utilised as a gasket material.
  • As usual, both sides of the plate have smooth surfaces.
