Instantaneous Fire Couplings

Instantaneous Fire Couplings

Instantaneous fire couplings have a female catch that is spring-loaded and clips behind the male fitting’s lip. The couplings offer a simple way to join numerous hose lengths together and are simply detachable by twisting or pulling the release mechanism. Instantaneous couplings are made in line with BS 336 and come with a 212″ nominal male and female bore head as standard. They come with a range of different sized hose tails, BSPP male and female threads, adaptors, end caps, and plugs on the reverse, and have a maximum working pressure of 16 Bar (232 psi).

Our selection of fire hose couplings at PAR are available in either aluminium or gunmetal, and they are primarily used by the water distribution industry.

BS 336 Instantaneous Couplings Availability

Male Fire x Spigot Tail

Male instantaneous couplings to spigot tails are used to connect a length of hose or tubing to a female fire fitting. They are available with either a ½”, ¾” or 1″ serrated tail.

Male Fire x Hose Tail

Male fire couplings to hose tails connect into a female fire fitting and provide a connection to a length of hose. They are available with hose tails ranging from 1½” up to 3″.

Female Fire x Hose Tail

Female instantaneous fire fittings to hose tails have two internal mechanisms that clasp to the lip of the male. They are available with hose tails ranging from 1″ up to 3″.

6904 – Thermoplastic Fire Hose

A thermoplastic hose, reinforced with braided textile plies. This hose is specifically designed for use with fixed or swinging fire hose reels. Available in 19mm and 25mm inside diameter. Temperature range of -20°C up to +75°C.

6904R – Rubber Fire Reel Hose

The red SBR (styrene-butadiene) cover and black SBR liner are reinforced with high strength braided textile plies. Available in 19mm and 25mm inside diameter. Temperature range of -20°C up to +75°C.

Branch Pipes & Nozzles

Commonly used for firefighting, wash down and jet spray applications. Many of our stocked and most popular nozzles can be fitted to layflat fire hose using female BS336 instantaneous couplings.

Fire Hose Couplings

Our range includes instantaneous couplings to BS 336, or international fittings such as Barcelona and Storz. Materials are available including aluminium, brass and gunmetal.

Fire Hydrant Standpipes

We supply a wide range of hydrant standpipes and accessories, including single outlet, double outlet, single and double contractor types, extensions and replacement inlet and outlet seals.

Fire Hose & Hose Reel Cabinets

Manufactured from a maintenance free, glass reinforced polyester resin, our range of cabinets can accommodate one, two or four flat wound hoses, or fixed/swinging hose reels as required.

6118 – Blue PVC Layflat Hose
