The movement of large masses places high demands on technology and equipment. Wherever bulk materials are transported, stored or further processed, wear and caking cause standstills in the work process. The flowability is thus of great importance for a smooth process. Our Matrox® product range was developed specifically for the demanding processes in bulk materials handling. Matrox® combines the best surface friction with the highest abrasion resistance, allowing the material to improve the performance and efficiency of your conveying processes.
In bunkers and silos large drop heights and the hard impact of the bulk goods cause extreme wear on the lining. The hopper-shaped outlet leads to core and mass flow problems. Safety requirements or the need to handle food, for instance, place further demands on the selection of the appropriate lining materials.
Truck bodies can present a variety of problems, depending on their shape: caking can occur in the corners, the flow of material stops and wear destroys the dumper. The following lining materials may be suitable, depending on the type of dumper and the grain size, form, moisture and temperature of the bulk goods Matrox®, Matrox® U 110, Matrox® EX 60 and Matrox® X.
The universal use of freight wagons for a wide variety of bulk goods demands a balance between protecting against wear and minimizing friction. In principle we recommend our Matrox® SI 12 for hopper, saddle or standard type wagons. Particular bulk goods may create a requirement for special linings in certain circumstances. We would be happy to advise.
Thanks to its permanently antistatic properties, Matrox® EX 60 is particularly suitable for applications in areas at risk of explosion. The material also has a high impact strength and is very UV resistant, making it ideal for outdoor use such as in open-cast mining.
With FDA approval for use with food, our material Matrox® FC can be used as a lining material for bulk goods in the food industry.
The performance and reliability of linings used for materials handling is influenced by a variety of factors. These factors must be taken into account in order to select the right materials. Examples:
