Conveyor technology & automation: saving energy with plastic
The transport of goods and merchandise within a company must be quick, reliable and economical. The use of materials with optimized slide properties in your conveying process helps to reduce the conveyor power required and with it the energy used. This in turns improves the performance and efficiency of your machines. We offer special materials for the manufacture of slide-optimized components for your plant and machinery in conveying and logistics processes.
Your advantages
- More economical production and logistics processes: Good slide friction reduces the conveyor energy required for your processes
- High process stability
- Efficient material flow
- Noise reduction
- Avoidance of slip-stick effects
Typical areas of application
- Beverage bottling systems
- Chain conveyors
- Automation
Product Examples
Slide elements for conveyor systems
Our LubX® product range offers high-performance sliding materials specifically developed for conveyor technology. Thanks to its outstanding slide properties, conveyor systems equipped with LubX® need significantly less energy compared with conventional materials. Slip-stick effects are avoided and process stability is improved. Depending on the application we recommend LubX® CV, LubX® C, LubX® S or LubX® Ast black
Chain guide profile for chain guides
Their low slide friction coefficients enable extruded and milled profiles made of Polystone® M (PE-UHMW) for chain guides to reduce the drive energy required in chain conveyors while at the same time improving process stability. Polystone® M also has permanent self-lubrication properties.
Spiral conveyors
Spiral conveyors made of Polystone® M soft (PE-UHMW) that are machined on our modern CNC installations offer good slide properties for soft slide partners, while their particularly low coefficient of slide friction means they are gentle on PET bottles during the conveying process.
Rollers
Thanks to their outstanding abrasion resistance, high mechanical strength and toughness, SUSTAMID 6G (PA 6G) rollers machined to close tolerances wear less than steel, require little maintenance and so offer a very long service life.
Gears, worm gears and sprockets
Gears, worm gears and sprockets made from our materials have been used successfully in many machines and systems for many years. The use of technical plastics significantly reduces cost. Less downtime due to maintenance and longer service lives of all components is just as beneficial as the low lubricant requirements and low vibration and noise.
Castors
Castors made of our materials Sustamid® 6G (PA 6G) and Lamigamid® (PA 6G) machined within tight tolerances are subject to less wear than steel because of their excellent abrasion resistance and high mechanical strength and toughness, are low-maintenance and thus make for a very long servicelife. We would be happy to advise and support you in selecting materials, designing and performing stress computations.
Sheets and Blocks
Diabolo castor (right) made of Lamigamid® 310 and heavy-duty castor made of Lamigamid® 1200 with cast steel hub
Welding Rods
Castor cover made of cold-resistant (up to -40°C) Lamigamid® 1200
Profiles and Welding Rods – Tank Building
Castors made of Sustamid® G6
Arrange technical advice
The performance and service life of materials used in conveyor systems are influenced by a variety of factors. These factors must be taken into account in order to select the right materials. Examples:
- Mechanical loading
- Thermal loading
- Slide partner
- Contact with operating resources, parting agents, lubricants and detergents
- Design conditions, dimensions and tolerances
